Information Collection and Use
Information Collection
Thank you for visiting the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial Web site. You do not have to provide any personal information to visit our site, and we will not collect or store any personal details that you have not given to us intentionally. Information you submit intentionally will be used only for the reasons stated at the time of submission. However, like most sites, some basic statistics are collected and stored automatically, including Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), linked pages, platform type, and date/time of visit. This information does not identify you in any way, and is only used to measure the number of visitors to our site and to learn the types of information that is of most interest to our visitors. We do not track or record information about individuals and their visits.

Online Donations
If you submit personal information for purposes of making a donation to the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial, we will use that information to properly and securely process your donation, and to provide you with the fulfillment premiums appropriate to the level of your gift. The personal information you provide, with the exception of credit card information, will be retained in our donor database. This information will be used by us to provide information to you about the progress of the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial, and to periodically offer you additional opportunities to support the memorial fundraising campaign. We do not retain credit card information beyond the time required to process your donation, nor do we share credit card information with any other organization.

Cookies
This site uses cookies. A "cookie" is a piece of data stored on your computer that contains information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. This site uses "session ID cookies," meaning that once you close the browser, the cookie simply terminates. Setting a cookie on our site allows for the online shopping cart to function properly by saving the information the user provides for the current session. If users reject the cookie, they may still use our site, but the shopping cart may not work properly.

E-mail
If you send us e-mail, you may choose to provide us with personal information. Any information you provide will be used to improve our service to you or to respond to your request. Your e-mail may be forwarded to a representative within our organization who will be better able to assist you. Except for authorized law enforcement agencies, we will not share your e-mail with any other outside organizations.

Links
This Web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that the Disabled Veterans' LIFE Memorial Foundation is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site, and to read the privacy statements of each and every Web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Web site.

Information Sharing
Legal Disclaimer
Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site.

We DO NOT Share Personal Information with Third Parties.

Third Party Intermediaries
We use an outside shipping company to ship orders, and a credit card processing company to bill users for donations and memorial store orders. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

Security
We take every precaution to protect your information. When users submit sensitive information via the Web site, their information is protected both online and off-line.

When our registration/order form asks you to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number and/or social security number), that information is encrypted and is protected with SSL, the best encryption software in the industry. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to unlocked, or open, when you are just "surfing."

While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect your information off-line. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Our employees must use password-protected screensavers when they leave their desk. When they return, they must re-enter their password to re-gain access to user information. Furthermore, ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Every quarter, as well as any time new policies are added, our employees are notified and reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our users' information is protected. Finally, the servers that store personally identifiable information are in a secure environment, behind a locked cage in a locked facility.

If you have any questions about the security of our Web site, please send an email to info@dvlmf.org.
